Out & About Hong Kong

Aug. 30th was a FUN evening at ISES Events. hosted by Robert Rogers ( a long time friend)

I haven't seen so much Glitz since my own performing days. LoL! House Of Sirens was the venue, & a perfect setting it was too.  Old Time band ( friends from Ned Kelly's Last Stand ), Ancient Gramophones, Speakeasy Dancers & Singers...Even "Michael" made an appearance.

Unfortunately for this Teetotaler, there was only water to drink. 8-( But the snacks were yummy. 8-D The ambiance was electric from start to finish. Lots of old & new acquaintances.....Good memories for my "scrapbook".

It's taken me ages to drag my carcass to one of these, but I'm glad I did.

Many more "Do's" between Now & Year's End. Will keep you all posted on Life In Hong Kong!

Pok Oi Lunar New Year Show - 09

2009 has gotten off to a nice start with the Pok Oi show. They even asked to keep our banner. Great for me since it's my first try @ this type of design. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to every one who helped me get it together. As well as those who worked so hard with the performance.

The ladies in the blue & red wraps are the Pok Oi students. The girl in the blue pant set is a new addition to the Intermediate class. Of course there's Emily & I'm kitted out in black. We're lucky to get this many on the new year when so many are out of town for the festivities with their families.

Hope you like the clip of the show. This is the first Belly dance show the ladies have performed. I hope they'll continue with us this year, & perform in many shows.

Oct. 12, 2008
Aaahhh...What a day!
All these lovely "babies" It would have been heaven for me if I could have played with them all ;-P
The Troupe was invited to perform for the event & we were well received. The wind was horrendous for the first part. Veils & veil fans just wouldn't obey! Thankfully the skirts were heavy or they'd have been around our ears! LoL Forget about the cane dance. I'd need to nail it down for it to have stayed on in that wind. All in all the second part made the day. Only hand scarves & no one dropped any ;-)
We've been invited for the X-Mas event too. Hope the girls are up to the task. As a benefit, this one has my heart. We even got a few ladies up to try a shimmy or two.
Hope we can gather a larger crowd next time

TA!
